What is linking a cricut cartridge

Very frustrating. I reached out to them and asked what to do and they told me to get one of these and I cant find it anywhere!!! What a scam. I will be returning my maker until the bugs are ironed out. It says no device found. Anyone having trouble? I used 2 computers different browsers different ports same issue. The adapter is not working on my Mac book. I have tried everything I can think of, but no luck.

I finally made mine work! I had to manually install cricut drivers to get it to work. It is a process but well worth it. I just ordered the Cricut Maker today.

I agree. It is a scam. I already purchased a cartridge years ago in anticipation of buying a Cricut, but I ended up buying a Maker. Now they expect you to purchase an add on to the price of your cartridge. I think that is outrageous!

These machines are supposed to ultimately help crafters to save money by not having to keep purchasing dies. Now I find you have to buy even the most basic of shapes. I also have a ScanNCut. Brother I feel are a better company and their software is superior to Cricut. Once a cartridge has been linked it CAN NOT be loaded to another account or Gypsy which means they will not work with the Cricut Explore line of machines since you must use a computer and online account.

Linked cartridges are usually less expensive and more plentiful. This is one reason, Angelia prefers her Expression machine to the new Explore. All new cartridges, of course, are Unlinked or Not linked. If you own an Explore or want to load a cartridge to your online account or Gypsy, only purchase Unlinked cartridges. You may think that a cartridge can only be Linked or Unlinked. Technically that is correct but we have come across a couple of cartridges that are new and have never been linked but will not load to a Gypsy or online account.
